ALEXANDRA ENTREPRENEURSHIP & HOSPITALITY TRAINING

This training program is being run by Entrepreneurship Academy and River church foundation. South Africa has one of the world highest unemployed rate of 27% and it is estimated that by 2025 there will be over 17 million youth age between 15-22 will be unemployed. Thus it makes urgently important that microeconomic boost with cottage industry and startup is the need of the time. 

 

The boom in the tourism industry made it urgently important to provide entry-level skilled worker for the hospitality & catering industry. The trainees are getting recruit straight after compellation of course. You may sponsor a student or group of unemployed youth from the township. This boost also provides abundant opportunities for the tourism sector small and medium-sized enterprises. The lean startup will provide trainees with a basic understanding of how to start their own business whether it is a product or services in the tourism sector.

The Industry in context:

Enter into the world of Hospitality a world of opportunities and an industry that never sleeps. The South African tourism industry is booming and expects around 16 million tourists to visit our country between 2015/16. The tourism sector is the fastest-growing segment of our economy and currently contributes R151 billion to GDP and is destined to grow exponentially in years to come.

 

In the post-Apartheid era, the boom in the tourism industry has brought many opportunities and challenges alike and specialising in industry skills shortages is one of the phenomena.  According to the industry sector of Seta “Cathsseta”, they have stated that the tourism & hospitality industry faces critical skill shortages in the following areas: waiters, baristas, restaurant and café manager, hotel receptionist, hotel services managers chambermaids and chefs.

 

Overseas tourists are demanding a high level of services and value for money in South Africa. In order to encounter these challenges, Cesar Ritz Hotelier Academy has launched various short courses to fulfil these demands.

Lean Startup Entrepreneurship five day program

Hotel receptionist ( Three months )

The courses are designed in such a fashion which gives candidate maximum learning exposure, whereas courses are consist of modular format and combine with the real-life simulation through demonstration and observation couple with workplace experience, theory and practice are 50/50 per cent. Work experience placement is guided by assignments that form the 60% toward the final completion marks of the course and 40% is based on theoretical knowledge.

Note; These modular format part-time courses are suitable for those people who are already at work and cannot dedicate full-time toward the study.

Basic Waiter Services program

Duration. One month full-time.

Course outline for Professional Waiter course:

1.Food and beverage industry in the context

2. F & B terminologies, Product knowledge and Menu orientation

3.Prepare &clear services areas for table service

4.Provide a table food & drink services

5. Serve a bottle of wine

6..Selling skills

7.Use of EPOS and credit/debit card machines.

8. Maintain an effective working relationship & teamwork

9.Safety at work

10.Maintain personal health, hygiene and personal appearance

11. Customer care and complaint handling.

12.Telephone skills.

 

Note: There are more than 150 SOPs are covered in this course but we have outline basic categories here only. SOPs “Standard Operation & procedures.

 

Our course is designed in a way to combine theoretical knowledge and skills with work experience. Two weeks of classroom theory & practical training and two weeks compulsory work experience at food & beverages service outlet e.g. hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, lounge, bar, night club etc.

 

After successful completion, a certificate of achievement will be issued which will be your license to enter into the ever-expanding hospitality industry locally and abroad.

Food & beverage Counter services program :

Duration: One month full-time.

  1. Food and beverage industry in the context

  2. Prepare and clear services areas for counter service

  3. Prepare equipment for the food & drink counter services

  4. Storing and displaying food service

  5. Drink dispenser preparation

  6. Refuse & waste food containers

  7. Selling skills

  8. Maintain an effective working relationship & teamwork

  9. Product knowledge, Menu orientation and F & B terminologies

  10. Use of EPOS and credit/debit card machines.

  11. Safety at work

  12. Maintain personal health, hygiene and personal appearance

  13. Customer care, telephone skills and customer complaint handling.

Hotel receptionist program :

After successful completion, a certificate of achievement will be issued which will be your license to enter into the ever-expanding hospitality industry locally and abroad.
